Bible Study Weekly Recap - The Meek

Welcome to Baca Bibleland Ministries! My dad’s birthday is always a few days from Father’s Day, and my mom’s birthday was close to Mother’s Day, (she is in heaven with Jesus now). They were married for 58 years and were together for 60. He just turned 87 and was in town recently to celebrate. I am truly blessed to still have him. Both of my grandfathers lived into their 90’s, so I plan on being on the planet for a while, unless the good Lord takes me home first. The Bible says in Psalm 91:16 With long life will I satisfy him and shew him my salvation. God is my doctor, and He has promised me a full life. Jesus said in John 10:10 I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. My great, great, great, great, grandfather Baca, was born in 1671 in Belen, New Mexico, New Spain. That was before this was a nation. On my mom’s side, we have native American (Isleta Pueblo) although she always said we are Spanish. I am as American as apple pie, and chile rellenos. New Mexico did not become a state until 1912 and both of my grandfathers were already there, so they did not have to cross the border, the border crossed them. Welcome to my land. (yellow smiley face emoji)
I believe my ancestors were originally from Spain on my dad’s side. Spaniards came to the new world to conquer, that is why so many cities in the southwest have Spanish names, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Santa Fe, even Las Vegas for example. I once saw a drawing of a conquistador binding a native American and thought, that is my ancestors on both sides. I demand restitution from myself. JK. Another time, I found a picture of an explorer named Cabeza de Vaca where the Baca name comes from. Vaca means cow. When I was a kid, my dad would be driving and honk the horn when he saw some cows and he would say, “That’s our relatives.” When I showed him a picture of the Spanish explorer, I said “dad, do you think we look like this guy?” He said, “Are we that ugly?”
I love my dad; he has a lot of funny sayings. When I was a skinny kid, I would attempt to help him with some physical labor but would only get in the way. He said, “quita del medio!” which basically means “get out of the way!” or more politely, remove from the middle. I did not have the power to chop wood with an axe or remove a lug nut which he tightened by hand harder than an impact wrench could. When he saw me struggling to no avail, he would say, “You must be weak then.” That was the only conclusion. You must be weak. He is still pretty strong. We were lovingly holding hands after breakfast recently, and he squeezed my hand so hard, I yelled. How do you spell awwww! Needs more w’s. Let the weak say I’m strong, let the poor say I’m rich. I’m strong and rich!
If you want all of God’s blessings, not just in the millennium but also today, you must be meek. Meekness is not weakness; it is quiet strength. Noah, did it (inherited the earth), and the children of Israel took the land. They did not wait for the millennium. We have authority and should have dominion over satan and his demons. God wants us to rule on the earth just as He rules in Heaven, He just wants us to do it His way. The meek shall inherit the earth. In 2026 and going forward let’s love, serve, and you must be meek.
