Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation ...NLT -Put on salvation as your helmet. Contemporary English -Let God’s saving power be like a helmet ... Good News- And accept salvation as a helmet .... Youngs- and the helmet of salvation receive ...

Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Ephesians 2:8,9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Psalm 25:5 Lead me in thy truth and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; ...

This is a great topic. I remember when I first got saved. Can you share how you first believed? When did you know that you were saved? How did God do it? We all have different testimonies. Some were saved dramatically and some simply believed. Are you saved? Are Catholics saved? How about Pentecostals or Methodists? How about Baptists, Church of God or other denominations or even non-denominations? Is one superior to the other? Some of us seem to think so. We talk about the church down the street. They are not like us. Thank God! God did not divide His Body. He did not create the various names we call ourselves; man did that. I believe God is going to break down the walls of division and we will begin to see a mighty move of the Spirit in the Body of Christ no matter what the name on the door is. The bloodline of Jesus will overtake the racial lines and love will overcome hate. Beloved, let us love one another for love is of God and everyone that loveth is born of God and knows God. He that loveth not, knows not God for God is love. I just made that up. JK,1 John 4:7&8. JK- Jesus is King or is it Jerry and Karen? All I know is we love Him because He first loved us. We were lost and He found us. Now we are followers of Jesus. I got saved in an apartment. I wasn’t in a temple, a synagogue, or a church building. Jesus met me right where I was at. I am not worthy but while I was yet a sinner, Christ died for me. That’s kinda like when I first met Karen, I was at a very low point in my life. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and to destroy. I was down and out, backslidden, lost just about everything. You can’t lose your salvation; however, you can reject God. I met a lady in my cab recently that asked, “Why is your wife still with you?” Kind of mean right? Though at times, I’ve wondered the same thing. Then I somehow picked the same lady up at her hotel the next day. Amazing how God does that.  I should have said, “My wife is still with me!” Many people I meet want to go to heaven, but not today. They say, I hope I make it. You can have assurance of your salvation. That is a whole other Bible study. Heaven and hell are hanging in the balance. God votes for you; the devil votes against. You cast the deciding vote for yourself. But it has to be God’s way, so it is good to learn a bit about the helmet of salvation. If you missed our study, you can catch it here in the PowerPoint and/or Video:

Hope to see you all for our next one when we cover the last piece of armor, the Sword of the Spirit! Have a great week. God Bless.
