Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is Love. .+-
As I started typing this, our beloved mascot/pet Riot the cat, unexpectedly jumped on my lap and stabbed my leg with his back claw. I yelled in pain and said,” the fruit of the Spirit is love”, so that I remember not to kill him. I noticed that with his front paw, he added a plus sign, which is his contribution to this blog, a cross. Thank you Riot and thank you Jesus.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Some people think that Christianity is not for everyone, but as this passage shows, it is all inclusive; whoever believes …will have eternal life through Christ our Lord. I meet people all the time that as I share my testimony they say, “Good for you”. Yes, He is good for me, but He is also good for you, though you may not know it yet. God is for you, not against you. The question is are you for Him. I wasn’t always for Him; I was for me only. I’m a sinner (saved by grace through faith) from what they call ‘Sin City’. I’ve been there, done that and got all the hats and T-shirts. (They don’t fit me no more). Paul the Apostle said that Christ came for sinners of whom I am chief. In other words, he thought of himself as one of the top sinners. The Bible also says that Jesus is the friend of sinners. So, He has a lot of friends in Las Vegas. I am one of them.
I’m also His servant, His friend, and more importantly, one of His sons. Don’t you want to be part of Gods family. I know I do. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons (and daughters) of God, even to them that believe on His name.
God is good and God is love. Love is the principal thing. Love is supreme and love covers a multitude of sins. God is not angry or looking for a reason to stomp you out. I believe we have not done a good job of representing Him. That is part of the reason that He is misunderstood which is why we did this last Bible Study on the fruit of Love.
